FAQs

Posters and Oral Presentations

If I submit a poster abstract, am I guaranteed a presentation slot?

Yes! We do not have a selection process for posters. Any abstract submitted at the time of registration will be allocated a space for a poster. Any attendee can present (1) poster at the symposium.

If I applied for but was not selected for an oral presentation, can I still present a poster?

Yes! All attendees are allowed to present one (1) poster at the symposium regardless of whether they applied for an oral presentation. Be sure to indicate that you would like to apply for both a poster and an oral presentation when registering.

Please note: If you want to present a poster at all, you must indicate this during registration. If you are not selected for an oral presentation, you will not automatically be added to the poster presenters list. However, you can cancel your poster presentation if you are selected for an oral presentation.

When will I know if I've been selected for an oral presentation?

We aim to notify individuals chosen for an oral presentation within one week after registration closes. We give those individuals another 7 days to accept the slot. Once all oral presentation slots have been filled, we will notify individuals who were not selected for an oral presentation (2-3 weeks after registration closes).

What are the allowed/recommended poster dimensions?

Maximum poster dimensions are 3 ft (W) x 4 ft (H). Vertical posters are highly encouraged but not mandatory.

Registration and Travel

If I register before the early bird deadline but don’t pay until later, can I still pay the early bird price?

Yes, registering before the early bird deadline locks in the early bird price. You must simply pay your registration fee before the symposium payment deadline. More information can be found on the Registration page.

Is there a preferred airport or hotel for the symposium?

No, there are no preferred airports or hotels for CBP. The symposium takes place in the heart of the city on University of Toronto campus, so there are many options for lodging in the area.

Both Toronto airports (Pearson and Billy Bishop) are connected to the city via public transit.
