Frequently Asked Questions

Posters and Oral Presentations

If I submit a poster abstract, am I guaranteed a presentation slot?

We do not have a selection process for posters, so poster spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Your abstract must be submitted before the registration period closes and your registration fee must be paid by the payment deadline to secure your poster space.

Please note: you will not be given a poster slot if you are selected for and accept an oral presentation.

If I applied for but was not selected for an oral presentation, can I still present a poster?

Yes!

Please note: If you want to present a poster at all, you must indicate this during registration. If you are not selected for an oral presentation, you will not automatically be added to the poster presenters list. If you are selected for and accept an oral presentation, we will not allocate a spot for your poster.

When will I know if I've been selected for an oral presentation?

We aim to notify individuals chosen for an oral presentation within one week after registration closes. We give those individuals another 7 days to accept the slot. Once all oral presentation slots have been filled, we will notify individuals who were not selected for an oral presentation (2-3 weeks after registration closes).

What are the allowed/recommended poster dimensions?

Poster boards are 6 ft (W) x 4 ft (H). We recommend poster dimensions of 3 ft (W) x 4 ft (H). Vertical posters are highly encouraged but not mandatory.

Symposium Logistics

If I register before the early bird deadline but don’t pay until later, can I still pay the early bird price?

Yes, registering before the early bird deadline locks in the early bird price. You must simply pay your registration fee before the symposium payment deadline. More information can be found on the Registration page.

Will Wi-Fi be available during the conference?

While a conference-dedicated Wi-Fi network will not be available, eduroam is available on University of Toronto campus. We recommend setting up your account (which should be done through your home institution, not the eduroam website) before arriving on campus to ensure your Wi-Fi access.

Is there a preferred airport or hotel for the symposium?

No, there are no preferred airports or hotels for CBP. The symposium takes place in the heart of the city on University of Toronto campus, so there are many options for lodging in the area.

Both Toronto airports (Pearson and Billy Bishop) are connected to the city via public transit.

How can I get to campus and where can I park?

Parking is available around campus and in the new King's College Circle garage. Please note that vehicle access in and out of the garage is from the Wellesley Street underpass only. There is no access from King’s College Road, Galbraith Road, or King's College Circle.

Campus is also highly accessible via public transit.

Are there discounted accommodations or parking available for conference attendees?

Unfortunately, there are no discounted accommodations or parking options for CBP2024 attendees.
